Integrated Therapy is an approach to wellness which combines the technology and expertise of traditional medicine with the healing powers of alternative medicine.
Integrated Therapy embodies the whole person, rather than focusing on individual symptoms or areas of the body. This inclusive approach enhances and stimulates the body's natural ability to heal and helps in creating a state of wellness.
Our Integrated Wellness Center focuses on:
- Empowering the individual to fully participate in maintaining the wellness of body,
mind and spirit
- Placing significant emphasis on good nutrition as a basis for good health
- Recognizing that a balanced lifestyle, appropriate exercise, adequate sleep and
emotional calmness are essential for optimal health
- Viewing the individual as a whole person striving to gracefully move forward with
life in harmony
Our physicians or your primary care doctor will refer you for a consultation with a Certified Holistic Nurse, specializing in stress reduction. Together you will explore a range of therapeutic techniques and educational resources aimed at developing an individualized program for reducing stress and promoting self-healing.
Areas of Focus:
- Breath Work: The simplest form of relaxation which focuses concentration on one
body sensation, cleansing the mind and promoting a sense of harmony and relaxation
- Guided Visual Imagery: A relaxation technique where the mind is gently led
through an imagery journey to a relaxing place evoking calm and peace
- Journal Writing: A very effective coping skill which provides profound internal
vision and enhances the self-awareness process
- Music Therapy: This relaxation technique for stress reduction allows one to
experience altered states of physical awareness and mood in response to musical notes and composition
- Meditation: Used to quiet the mind and provide a refuge where one can connect
with the inner self
- Social Engineering: A cognitive strategy which involves analyzing a problem,
creating a series of viable options and then choosing the best option to clear stress prone obstacles
- Physical Exercise: A form of positive stress that has been shown to improve the
integrity of the body's physiologic response to stress and return balance to body, mind and spirit
- Dietary Counseling / Lipid Management: Eating is both a relaxation technique and
a coping technique. How we eat is one determinant of health. Changing how we eat is one strategy for managing disease and restoring health
